Chef JP is a talented individual, the man behind the popular nose-to-tail dining experience for Dehesa at North Canal Road. If you’re a big fan for meats, Dehesa will be the place to satisfy your carnivorous cravings.
Our most recent experience at Dehesa was extremely memorable, for more reasons than one – as you will see from the illustrious list of dishes to come.
Every meat dish is big, bold
Chef JP’s new additions to his menu include big, bold signature meat dishes, including Puma Iberica, Beef Ribs, Short Ribs, Rump of Lamb and Veal Chop, priced from $28.
Wagyu beef with sweet potato fries (price upon request) is simple and unpretentious with the flavours. For those seeking for something different, you can try Cotes De Bouef. The 1.2kg 200-day grain fed Angus steak ($170 per kg) is dishing out lavish flavours and ingredients with a good consistency over quality. It is fat-melting at every bite that you take. Simply delectable.
Succulent meat that’s simply unforgettable
The Dehesa’s menu is made up of quality meats. Like their 150-day grain fed Angus sirloin steak (special menu, price upon request), this beloved delicacy is sliced generously before me. The lean cuts offer a good level of richness.
Veal cutlet (special menu, price upon request) preserves the sweetness and freshness of the meat and the seasoned mash gives an uplift to a stronger tasting meat flavour. Each bite of the veal cutlet intensifies further.
Last but not least, the secreto iberico with a wow factor
Secreto iberico ($44) has a fabulous wow factor! It simply melts in the mouth, attaining a great umami sensation. This makes as an amazing bed of protein. I would not mind to have a second go.
Having premium alternative cuts has half the battle won, but North Canal Road’s Dehesa is a restaurant that have grasped the delicate balance of preserving the natural flavours, alongside a culinary talent.
