
The Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon Half Marathon 2025 was an exhilarating journey.
This year’s route was exceptionally well-organized, carrying me through the iconic sights of Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay, and the Singapore Flyer as I pushed and paced my way forward.

Over 5–6 months of training with my running coach, David Shum, and the SCSM’s Running Department, I gained invaluable knowledge about running. Each session guided my growing weekly mileage, and every individual I met taught me something new. Being surrounded by a community with such uplifting energy truly elevated my commitment and transformed the entire training journey.

During the race, there were moments when I felt close to hitting the DNF button, but the incredible cheer squads and volunteers kept lifting me up. I reset and ran again. Their encouragement carried an energy that went far beyond the usual runner’s high.
I kept pacing, kept pressing, and crossed my finish line.

For anyone thinking about starting their running journey, I can only say this: you gain far more than you lose. Running teaches you how to unlock your mind and grow into a stronger version of yourself. Trust the process, stay committed to your fitness journey, and watch the impossible become possible.
