Are you a fan of all things sweet? With demostration of creativity and details, Janice Wong’s new degustation menu at 2am: dessertbar aims for a sugary celebration.
At a price of S$58, the menu showcases a progression of unusual flavour combinations in tune with the seasons of the year as it promises a “feast for the eyes (and iPhones!)” with Instagrammable shots. Working alongside Janice Wong, 2am:dessertbar’s Pastry Chef Tomo Nakashima has drawn inspiration from her heritage, using regional Japanese ingredients such as Kinkan, Yuzu and Japanese black sugar.
Like the theatrically-served Raspberry Fromage, it is almost too pretty to eat. The dessert contains Kaffir lime leaf parfait, Juniper berry jelly sheet and more. It’s interactive and tasty too.
The desserts here are epic. We love the Pandan Chocolate that literally melts in the mouth. You just can’t go wrong with Pandan sponge cake with great flavours coming from fresh green grape, Japanese black sugar caramel parfait and coated dark chocolate. It’s just so indulgent.
2am:dessertbar’s last amazing dessert highlight from the degustation menu will be their Kinkan Osmanthus Tea. The quality of the ingredients shines through, and with flavours like Kinkan compote from kochi mixing with Pistachio crumble, Japanese veg SHUNGIKU ice cream and Yuzu powder. The combination of ingredients was just so beautiful.
A cocktail pairing option for the 5-set menu is available at an additional cost of S$40, while a smaller 3-set degustation is also available at S$38 with a cocktail pairing option (additional S$30). Come and try the desserts at 2am:dessertbar!
