A perennial favorite for long romantic walks with a breath-taking skyline, the waterfront at Fullerton Square is indeed charming. Housed in a colonial heritage building, 1919 Waterboat House launched their festive 5-course menu ($108++) for “most wonderful time of the year“. This Christmas, get ready to be thrilled by their fabulous Christmas fare.
Generous serving of beef tartare on the top of the garlic, chives, capers, egg sealed in the wholesomeness of this dish. We’ve been stuffed by beef tartare with the perfect toast. It was surprisingly not as heavy as we thought it might be. It was a great start.
The second course was cepes with leek, simply delicious. Get ready for generous serving of Seared Hokkaido scallops coupled with potatoes and bacon, an interesting and meatier version of these scallops.
The sous vide wagyu rump was stacked with flavour, literally. The rump was cooked perfectly pink in the centre, with a chunk of pasta and beef jus. The sauce gave a good balance to the richness of this meat dish.
You can choose their deconstructed turkey pie as an alternative main and this was the best highlight of the Christmas fare. The flakes from the puff pastry might have worked just as well. I thought this dish was just right, and without a doubt, it was plated together with the freshness of the ingredients.
Verdict
1919 Waterboat House brings the best of both worlds, it provides a perfect celebratory dining experience with an amazing view of the quay. Nevertheless, it marks a perfect place for celebratory and corporate events. The Christmas festive menu includes both 2-course and 3-course lunch, 4-course and 5-course dinner. Valid from for 12th December to 24th December 2016.
