It screams more than an intimate dinner at this nice French restaurant – Metis Bali might just be the right place. People were raving so much about the dining experience, extraordinary French cuisine and great service.
Just a tipple bit more
Chill out while tuning into the upbeat vibe from the bar downstairs. On an island where people-watching is a leisure sport, these cozy nooks are the perfect area to relax with friends. For a restaurant that’s lauded more for its food, it has an extensive drink and specialty wine list, with a pretty creative cocktail menu.
The drinks list shows a good effort at paring where some drinks are selected to go with the food menu. For the full drinks menu, click here.
Authentic regional French food at Metis Bali
Honestly, my dinner companion and I were completely sold by their flawless service that night. We loved the It might seem a little odd to be eating French food in a tropical island like Bali. Expatriates and travellers do get homesick, right?
We went ahead with the restaurant manager’s recommendations, which included Mushroom Soup (Rp90k), the Wild Rucola Salad (Rp55k), Moroccan Lamb Shank Tajine (Rp235k), 300 days Grain Fed Black Angus Hanging Tender (Rp250k) – the servings were proportioned nicely.
The salad was refreshing and light, it had a really good texture. The show-stopper was the lamb shank as the meat was falling off the bone as we conquered through it. The sauce from the vegetables and prunes was super balanced with bursting flavours. Everything was just perfect.
The steak seemed pre-cooked sous vide style and was well-seasoned by itself. The sauce and fries were the best accompaniments to complete the dish. Alternatively, the Pan Seared Organic Grass Fed Australian Beef Tenderloin was also a hot favourite.
Coming together nicely
Metis Bali has a very strong expatriate following as it was witnessed through our dinner. Apart from the extensive food and drinks menus, we were pleasantly surprised by the delectable authentic French cuisine with such an affordable price. It is a perfect place to have a hearty meal, chill your Friday night away.
