Fans of Japanese cuisine can head to the 75-seater restaurant at Marina Bay Sands – Sen of Japan.
The menu is curated by chef Nakano Hiromi, who used to helm Japanese restaurant Nobuat the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas. The smartly designed casual dining restaurant hits as a popular spot between corporate and tourist with its sleek designs.
The meaning of ‘Sen’ in Japanese is fresh, and to them, ‘to be fresh’ lies in the quality of each dish.
Lunch sets start from $17.95, while the a la carte menu starts from $6.00. At Sen of Japan, the traditional Japanese sushi is appealing. Essentially, Sen of Japan offers variations of sushi rolls that are made of so much sauce, textures and flavours.
Their menu book is very extensive from warm dishes, yakitori, meats to nigiri sushi.
While Filet Mignon Tataki ($12.50) is with assertive flavors that nudge or hit you in the face, Ikani Uni Chawanmushi ($13.00) is nothing special though.
Like the Salmon Aburi Roll ($17.50), the roll is appealing and light, you will adore the flavors as you bite on the salmon roe pearls that adorn the salmon slices.
For Aburi Prawn Roll ($18.50), the melange of textures and flavours was nothing short of gratifying. So much sauce, so shiok. Ordering the whole roll would be more worth the price’s value.
The best highlight from their menu will be their Sweet Miso Eggplant ($8.50), totally worth recommending. It is utterly refreshing with the sweet and delightful flavours.
Verdict
Chef Hiromi will be in town till May 12 to present his signature dishes, as well as a new Chef’s Table six-course menu available only during his visit. Sen of Japan is certainly recommended for appealing and tasty Japanese sushi.
